Introduction

MG drainage ltd was first registered in 2000 but we have been trading as a drainage specialist since 1990. We are still a relatively small company by choice but we can service the needs of our customers. All our work is achieved by recommendations, up until recently we have never directly advertised our services. Our advertising now consists of a placement in www.118trades.com which is a list of various tradesmen and companies.

My name is Mick Grant, I carried out a plumbing apprenticeship with 'Economic Plumbing' starting in 1984. Economic was a London based property maintenance company and at the time one of the first and largest companies to offer this service. My tasks were basically as a plumbers mate mainly involved in jobbing work all over central London. I completed three years at Willesden College of Technology and received my City and Guilds qualifications in advanced plumbing, sanitation and heating.

After my apprenticeship I continued to work for Economic Plumbing as a jobbing plumber and was also involved in various other trades such as roofing, heating, drainage and some carpentry and electrics. I left the company, at the time in existence as 'GKN Economic', in the late 1980's and began working for 'Davenport Property Services' as well as concentrating on my own work. This was mostly plumbing and heating services, both emergency and installations, and I qualified and became a registered CORGI installer.

I continued along this path until I realised I could provide a specialised drainage service to my personal customers and therefore began to progress into this direction. Since this time I have been working for various property maintenance companies, surveyors, landlords, consultants, publicans and drainage contractors, and will continue to do so. A lot of our custom is repeat business and I feel we have a good relationship with our client base. To ensure quality I will never allow the company to grow too big too quickly; I want to keep in touch with all work that we complete and continue our working relationship with our clients.
